PROCESS TYPES

Mixing Processes in the Mining Sector

Each process type requires different mixing parameters, impeller geometry and material selection.

CIL/CIP Leaching

Carbon-in-leach and carbon-in-pulp processes for gold and silver extraction. Activated carbon suspension and cyanide distribution.

Flotation

Air bubble-particle interaction in mineral beneficiation. The GDM gas dispersion impeller provides optimum air dispersion and froth stability. CFD analysis optimizes recovery rates in the flotation cell.

Slurry Conditioning

Chemical conditioning of dense mineral slurries. HWM axial flow impellers for pH adjustment, flocculant dosing and reagent distribution. Homogeneous mixing capability at up to 60% solids concentration.

Autoclave Leaching

Pressure leaching processes at high temperature and pressure (HPAL). HP Series design with Titanium, Hastelloy and specialty alloy materials for corrosion resistance at operating pressures up to 150 bar.

Thickener

Sediment distribution and flocculant mixing in tailings and concentrate thickening tanks. Energy-efficient suspension with low speed, high torque design for tank capacities up to 500 m³.

Acid Leaching

Corrosion-resistant mixing in acidic environments for copper, nickel and cobalt extraction. Long-lasting performance with Super Duplex, Hastelloy or rubber-lined impellers; wear points minimized via CFD.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of mixer is used in leach tanks?+
Solid suspension is critical in leach tanks. HWM or TVM axial flow impellers keep particles at the tank bottom in suspension. Super Duplex or rubber-lined impellers are preferred for abrasive environments.
How is the mixer selected for HPAL processes?+
HP Series pressure-rated mixers are used in HPAL (High Pressure Acid Leaching) processes. Operating pressures up to 150 bar, Hastelloy/Titanium materials and specialized mechanical seal solutions are required.
How can mixing efficiency be improved in flotation cells?+
The GDM gas dispersion impeller ensures homogeneous distribution of air bubbles. CFD analysis optimizes flow patterns in the flotation cell to increase mineral recovery rates.
How can impeller life be extended in abrasive slurry environments?+
Rubber, polyethylene or ceramic-coated impellers offer 3-5 times longer service life against slurry erosion. Impeller geometry is optimized via CFD to minimize wear points.
How is the mixer selected for boron processing plants?+
HWM wide-blade impellers provide homogeneous suspension in boron crystallization and dissolution tanks. Low-shear designs are preferred due to the high density and crystal structure of borax solution.
