OVERVIEW

GDS Impeller — Radial+Axial Hybrid Performance

The GDS is a hybrid gas dispersing impeller manufactured by Mechanimix. Combining GDM and HWM-B designs, it operates across a diameter range of Ø200–1800 mm. Its radial and axial flow combination prevents gas cavity formation and delivers homogeneous mixing with low power consumption; preferred in the chemical, polymer and biotechnology industries.

Hybrid Flow Design

The GDM+HWM-B combination produces powerful radial and axial flow, creating a dual flow pattern in a single impeller.

Superior Gas Distribution

The radial flow component breaks up gas bubbles while the axial flow component distributes gas homogeneously throughout the tank.

Low Power Consumption

Operates at low torque values thanks to the hybrid blade geometry, minimizing energy costs.

Gas Cavity Prevention

The specially designed blade profile prevents gas cavity formation under gassed conditions, maintaining mixing efficiency.

Enhanced Suspension

The axial flow component keeps solid particles in suspension even under gassed conditions, increasing reaction efficiency.

Cost Advantage

A single impeller meets both gas dispersion and suspension needs, reducing equipment and operating costs.
