GM4 Impeller Self-Aspirating Gas-Liquid

The GM4 impeller is a self-aspirating gas-liquid impeller that draws gas into the liquid through its own specially designed gas suction channels without requiring an external sparger system. With high gas feed capacity and a wide gas-liquid contact area, it delivers optimum gas mass transfer. It achieves short reaction times with low gas consumption in hydrogenation, oxidation, carbonation and fermentation processes.

OVERVIEW

GM4 Impeller — Self-Aspiration Gas Dispersion

The GM4 is a self-aspirating gas-liquid impeller manufactured by Mechanimix. It operates within a diameter range of Ø150–2500 mm and a viscosity range of 1–5,000 cP. It draws gas into the liquid through its own gas suction channels without requiring an external sparger system, delivering optimum mass transfer. It is preferred in hydrogenation, oxidation, carbonation and fermentation processes.

High Gas Feed Capacity

Achieves high gas feed capacity through specially designed gas suction channels, eliminating the need for an external sparger system.

Wide Contact Area

Creates a wide gas-liquid contact area, increasing the mass transfer coefficient and maximizing reaction efficiency.

Uniform Energy Distribution

Prevents dead zone formation and ensures uniform gas distribution through homogeneous energy distribution across the tank volume.

Low Gas Consumption

Achieves maximum mass transfer performance with minimum gas consumption through optimum suction power design.

Short Reaction Time

Significantly reduces reaction times through effective gas distribution, increasing production capacity.

Superior Heat Transfer

Enhances jacket and coil heat transfer through an effective flow pattern, facilitating process temperature control.

APPLICATION AREAS

Areas of Use

Hydrogenation

Provides effective hydrogen distribution in high-pressure hydrogenation reactors through direct gas aspiration without a sparger.

Alkoxylation

Creates safe and efficient process conditions by self-aspirating gas in ethylene oxide and propylene oxide reactions.

Oxidation

Provides homogeneous gas distribution by directly aspirating air or oxygen in chemical oxidation processes.

Carbonation

Achieves high dissolution rates in carbonation processes by effectively aspirating CO2 gas into the liquid.

Fermentation

Optimizes oxygen transfer in aerobic fermentation processes in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

Biogas Upgrading

Improves gas-liquid contact efficiency in biogas purification and upgrading processes in the environmental and energy sectors.
